Prologue
What secrets lie within Little Eden’s hidden garden?
How did the little princess come to live here, and how did she discover this place?
This garden feels like a threshold between dream and reality.
It is quiet, yet full of wonder—offering the kind of miracles that unfold slowly, day by day.
And so, she began calling it her paradise on earth.
The Secret Garden – Quinta
“Quinta” is a Portuguese word that describes a self-contained estate surrounded by gardens and forest.
It’s similar to an English estate, but more deeply intertwined with the rhythms of nature.
In this Quinta, a long driveway leads from the grand gate to the house.
Along the path, ferns, bananas, succulents, and eucalyptus trees form a magical landscape that seems to shift its shape throughout the day.
At the heart of it stands a massive stone water tank—like a pantry for the garden, storing nourishment for every leaf and petal.

Why She Calls It Paradise
This garden is more than just a collection of beautiful plants.
It is a still and profound space, where wind has texture and time feels visible in how the light moves and leaves sway.
One day, she arrived at this place,
and among sunlight and laughter that lingered in everyday life,
she softly began to call it “paradise.”

The Family of the Quinta
An English family lived in this Quinta.
David, the patriarch, was the image of a traditional British gentleman—
educated at a boarding school and Oxford, with discipline and order woven into his every move.
He had spent decades in Portugal as a chief accountant,
his meticulous and reserved character grounding the garden’s atmosphere.
His wife Anne, by contrast, was a warm, free spirit who loved coffee and dancing.
Together, their contrasting energies brought richness to the garden’s life.
And their son—
a quiet companion in the little princess’s journey—
we call him the Black Sheep.
This blog, Little Eden, is a journal of that garden’s seasons and stories,
and of the everyday moments that quietly bloomed within it.
Like a single flower blossoming in a quiet corner,
may these words bring a small light into your own day.
Where life blossoms like a garden
